Beautiful Lie and Bluefire Productions will also be presenting R.J. Downes' Without Whom at this year's Fringe of Toronto Festival. Regan Macaulay will produce the play alongside producers R.J. Downes and Kathryn Malek. Check back for future updates regarding the play, particularly the casting call, which is coming up soon.

Without Whom will also be performed at the 2008 Hamilton Fringe Festival.

Another previous member of Triple Take, John Healy (Over-the-Edge), is also participating in the Fringe this year.

Frances-Anne Solomon's acclaimed award-winning film will open to cinema goers this February! The official release launch takes place January 31, 2008 at the Revue Cinema (400 Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto). Cast and crew will be on hand for a special Q&A session and VIP reception.

Set in Toronto's Parkdale Community, A Winter Tale tells the emotional story of a black men's support group that begins to meet at a Caribbean takeaway restaurant, after a ten-year-old boy is killed by a stray bullet. It features a talented ensemble cast led by Canadian stars Peter Williams and Michael Miller and Caribbean icons Leonie Forbes and Dennis "Sprangalang" Hall.

Regan Macaulay and Kevin Risk were both involved with the film. Regan was the Associate Producer and Kevin did some post-production sound work.

R.J. Downes, Director and Co-producer of Last Dance of the Dark Cloaked Avenger, has been named the Festival Producer of the Playwrights of Spring Festival, Theatre Aurora. Submissions of one-act and full-length plays are currently being accepted - the deadline is November 30th.

A Winter Tale, produced by Leda Serene Films, directed by Frances-Anne Solomon, written by Michelle Lonsdale Smith and Frances-Anne Solomon and Associate Produced by Regan Macaulay, will have its Gala premiere at the 15th annual African Diaspora Film Festival in Manhattan on November 23rd, with additional screenings on November 25th and Dec 1st. The film stars Peter Williams and Leonie Forbes, and both are being honoured at a special reception hosted by the Jamaican Consulate General in New York on Tuesday November 20th.

"It Was Kit" to be remounted...at St. Andrew's College

The 2006 Fringe of Toronto Festival and Best of the Fringe (Diesel Playhouse) hit, It Was Kit: The "True" Story of Christopher Marlowe by Allison McWood, is about to receive the remount treatment! The production includes an all student cast of 12 up-and-coming actors, mostly students from St. Andrew's College in Aurora. Regan Macaulay returns to direct this new cast of young Renaissance men and women in the production that was deemed a "rollicking revisionist history..." by Tyler Clarke Burke of Eye Magazine and "...a crowd-pleasing farce with a contemporary tone..." by Jon Kaplan of Now Magazine. Costume Designer Michelle Bailey and the fabulous omni-garment costumes make a return as well, as does the original "actor" and prop, Stiffy, the rat!

Performances run in May 2008 during the Focus Festival, on campus at St. Andrew's College, 15800 Yonge Street, Aurora, Ontario. Please check back for further updates and details. Also, visit St. Andrew's College's drama dept. website for more info.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of A Winter Tale on the recent screening at The Montreal World Film Festival August 28th, 29th and September 1st. The film was directed by Frances-Anne Solomon, written by Michelle Lonsdale Smith and Frances-Anne Solomon, produced by Leda Serene Films and associate produced by Regan Macaulay (who was also the script editor). Recently, A Winter Tale won the Tonya Lee Williams Award for Outstanding Canadian Feature at the 2007 ReelWorld Film Festival this past spring.
