Kathryn Malek
Producer, Without Whom Kathryn is an actor, writer and director. She is originally from Winnipeg, but resides in Toronto. Her theatre acting credits include Miss Pringle in Baby with the Bath Water for Alumnae Theatre, Embracing the Black Madonna for the Fringe Festivals, and By Any Other Name for Cabbagetown Theatre. Her recent film acting credits include the independent films Treasures from Asia, Friends Forever, To Hell - With You, and Wish Upon a Star. Some theatre projects she has directed include Modern Ritual for the New Ideas Festival, Platypus for the Rhubarb! Festival and The Tip / The Auditions for Cabbagetown Theatre. A few of her independent film directing credits include Constructing Women, Stolen Moment, Cellular Romance and Longing To. She co-wrote Death to Dating with R.J. Downes. Death to Dating was a part of the 2007 New Ideas Festival and has been adapted to a musical for the 2008 Fringe of Toronto Festival, where she is also co-producing Withourt Whom. Her current writing projects include: Mother May I, A Woman is More and Table Dance. She created Blue Fire Productions in 2001 to produce inspiring and educational works of theatre and film. She is constantly encouraged by her two darlings Isabella and Beckett.
