You don’t want to miss hearing those words that criminals fear…"You’re about to feel the wrath of The Dark Cloaked Avenger!  Ha, ha, ha!"

Last Dance of The Dark Cloaked Avenger, a dark comedy about death, is set as a 1940s radio play.  Arthur Warnes, the star of a long-running suspense thriller radio serial, The Dark Cloaked Avenger, is found outside his apartment, shot dead. While a police detective tries to solve the murder in the real world, Arthur wakes up to find himself in a studio in the afterlife performing from a script written about his very own murder. Life and death ultimately collide as both men try to figure out who-done-it, both with the help and hindrance of the rest of the cast and crew of The Dark Cloaked Avenger Hour, sponsored as always by "Brenton’s Biscuits" – Westside City’s tastiest after dinner treat.

With equal parts dark comedy, campy sendoff and crackling wit, R.J. Downes (Death to Dating, Platypus) draws from his knowledge and appreciation for pulp fiction to create a richly layered play for today’s audiences. Downes also directs. The cast includes Claire Acott (Pieces, i), Linzee Barclay (Private Lives), Greg Corkum (Shakespeare’s Sports Canon), André Davey (Pulp Fiction – Live!), Andrew Dundass (Playboy of the Western World), Stephen Flett (It Was Kit, The Affectations of May), Kathryn Malek (Baby with the Bath Water), Scott Moore (It Was Kit), Conor O’Hegarty (Lady Windermere’s Fan – Alumnae Theatre) and Kevin Risk (It Was Kit, Shakespeare’s Brain).
